Al Neff is a 25+ year radio veteran of varied commercial and public formats. He’s a musicologist and social historian with a graduate degree in Popular Culture Studies. In addition to his radio career, he is also a professor of World History, Global Cultures, Mass Media and Sociology.
Into the Music has been a nationally-syndicated radio series for over 6 years, but it is researched, written and produced here in Denver. The intent of the show is to help listeners literally find their way into the music of the greatest artists and associates, events, eras, companies, concerts, technological innovations and twists of fate that set the stage for the evolution of popular music.
The Into the Music series is designed around the metaphor of the highway system. Each road can lead to every other road through the connections, crossroads and junction points. The stories of the people involved, and the soundtracks they produced, pave the way. The music drives the show, with a goal of enhanced awareness and enjoyment for the “Into the Music” listener.
